Mumbai, Thane and adjoining areas receive heavy rains – Times of India

MUMBAI: Heavy rains lashed Mumbai city, adjoining Thane, and other areas on Tuesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the Palghar district and an orange alert for Mumbai and Thane.
The Regional Metrological Department(RMD) has predicted thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds, and very heavy rainfall at isolated places.

So far, there are no reports of major waterlogging. However, a waterlogging complaint has only been received from LBS road in Kurla west, near Sheetal Cinema.
From 8 am-5 pm, the city area has recorded 68 mm rains, eastern suburbs 71.44 mm and western suburbs 65.28 mm.
The public transport services, including suburban trains, also remained unaffected.
Meanwhile, Central Railway tweeted, “It’s raining heavily in suburban and ghat sections of Mumbai Division. Local and long-distance trains are running as per time table. Will keep you updated on the train running status.”
