In all, 13,807 infant deaths were registered in 2020 while 2019 had 17,125 — a 19% drop. Up to 85% (11,751) registrations were in urban areas. While some disparity is expected, experts called the gap between urban-rural areas a bit too disproportionate. Nationally, 76. 6% infant deaths were seen in urban areas.
