Mumbai: 28-year-old man attacks, extorts hawker, held – Times of India

MUMBAI: The Anti Extortion Cell of Mumbai police have arrested 28-year-old Ankit Srivastav, a resident of Sewri, who attacked a panipuri vendor in Wadala and set his handcart on fire after he failed to pay him ‘hafta’.
Police said they have requested the hawkers from Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg to come forward and lodge complaints if they were harassed and threatened by Srivastav as well.
This arrest comes after instructions from the police commissioner Sanjay Pandey asking the city crime branch to take action against extortionists who are harassing hawkers .
