MUMBAI: The city crime branch probing the bogus doctor racket arrested the retired director of the Maharashtra council of Medical, Paramedical Science in Ahmednagar after it transpired that he had issued bogus registration certificates to many bogus doctors.
The crime branch took the accused into custody of Neelkant Namdev Misal (65) from Taloja jail in a two year old similar cheating case.
The fresh case pertains to a raid carried out by the crime branch unit 7 in the Pant Nagar vicinity of Ghatkopar where the police had received information about quacks.
In August 2021 police with the assistance of the BMC health officers carried out a survey and arrested three bogus doctors.
