Mumbai News Live: A case has been registered against BJP leader Pravin Darekar in MRA Marg police station on a complaint filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dhananjay Shinde who accused Darekar of defrauding the government and the Mumbai District Central Cooperative Bank. Mumbai police sent a notice to Darekar to appear for questioning on Monday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray striked off at BJP and union government following issues related to GST compensation and clearance for state’s projects on Saturday, while inaugurating two new metro lines in Mumbai. “There are some people who feel I am taking away their credit for Metro. According to PTI, several social media users claimed to have witnessed unidentified burning objects falling from the sky in north Maharashtra and districts of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday evening.

With the addition of six new coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra mounted to 7,08,796, an official said on Sunday.
These new cases were reported on Saturday.
With no fresh fatality, the Covid-19 death toll in the district remained 11,883. The mortality rate is 1.67 per cent, the official added.
In neighboring Palghar district, the Covid-19 case count is 1,63,591 while the death toll is 3,407, an official from Palghar said. (PTI)
The bodies of two men were fished out from the backwaters of Khadakwasla dam near Pune in Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
The exact circumstances surrounding their death are being investigated, an official said, adding that drowning seems to be the cause of death.
The deceased are in their late 20s.
“The incident came to light after local people informed guards that two pairs of shoes and clothes are lying near the reservoir and no human activity is seen inside the backwater. During a search operation conducted by police and fire brigade personnel, two bodies were fished out after two hours on Saturday afternoon,” the official said.
He said the deceased duo might have come to the spot for fishing or swimming. (PTI)
In a veiled attack on the BJP, NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday alleged that attempts were being made to spread bitterness in the society, and therefore taking the country forward and maintaining harmony has become a challenge. Politics used to connect people in the past, but now efforts were being made in the country to divide them on the basis of religion, he said, adding that the the country’s leadership was trying to defame national icons like Mahatma Gandhi.
Even though compulsion has ended, people should wear masks in public as long as he and his deputy Ajit Pawar continue to wear them, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday. Speaking at the inauguration of new metro rail lines in the city, the chief minister said though mask is no longer compulsory, we can not let off our guard.
