Mumbai News Live: Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday morning due to post-Covid-19 complications. She was 92. Her condition deteriorated on Saturday and she was put on ventilator support in a critical condition. The legendary singer’s body will be kept at Shivaji Park in Mumbai for people to pay their last respects.
Maharashtra recorded 11,394 new cases, a drop of 2,446 from the day before, and 68 fatalities in the last 24 hours. Mumbai on Saturday recorded 643 fresh novel coronavirus cases, 1,402 recoveries, and four deaths. This is the third consecutive day that new cases remained below 1,000 in the city.
In another development, social activist Anna Hazare has threatened to go on an indefinite strike against the state government’s decision to allow sale of wine in supermarkets and walk-in shops across Maharashtra.
