Maharashtra home minister Dilip Walse Patil tested Covid-19 positive with mild symptoms. Meanwhile, chikungunya cases hit a five-year high in the state, even as the medical fraternity believes the count of cases is severely under-reported. Maharashtra reported 2,006 confirmed cases of chikungunya fever from January to October this year, the highest since 2017, when 1,438 cases were reported.
