Mumbai: FIR against Sushant’s 2 sisters, Delhi cardiologist for cheating, conspiracy – Times of India

MUMBAI: Bandra police late on Monday registered a case against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters—Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh—and Delhi-based cardiologist Dr Tarun Kumar accusing them of conspiring with each other and prescribing the actor anxiety medicines without valid prescription.
The FIR also speaks about a fresh allegation by Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty that Priyanka and Meetu were the beneficiaries of their brother’s bank account and they wanted to take control of his finances. Rhea had submitted a complaint to Bandra police on Sunday.
On Tuesday, Sushant’s sister Shweta Sing Kirti tweeted: “Nothings gonna break us, definitely not this fake FIR.”
Mumbai police spokesperson, DCP N Ambika, said the trio has been booked for cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy under the IPC and also under the NDPS Act as the anxiety medicines fall in the controlled substances category. In line with the SC order, the case was transferred to CBI on Tuesday.
Rhea has alleged that Priyanka had texted Sushant the medicine names from Delhi. Since they could not have been bought without a prescription, she sent him a forged prescription electronically, which is prohibited under law. It is also alleged that Sushant was shown as an OPD patient in Delhi on June 8, when he was in Mumbai.
Rhea claimed that she learnt from Sushant’s manager Siddharth Pithani that in July, Sushant’s brother-in-law IPS officer O P Singh had called up Pithani and told him that during questioning, he should tell Bihar police that Rhea had siphoned off money from Sushant’s account. Singh did not respond to text messages from TOI. Meanwhile, the forensic auditor appointed by ED and city police has failed to find any fraudulent money transfers to Rhea from Sushant’s account.
Rhea has sought a probe into what went wrong between June 8 and 14 when she was not with Sushant; Meetu was living with him till June 12. She has also asked to find out why Sushant stopped taking medicines prescribed by five doctors, and the side-effects of the medicines prescribed through Priyanka.
Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde told TOI, “She has set the criminal law in motion by filing her complaint… The cocktail of illegally administered medicines and drugs may have led to Sushant’s suicide. His sisters need to be answerable to the investigators and god…CBI will investigate if the doctor is criminally culpable or otherwise….”
