Religious places across the state including Mumbai reopened on Thursday after the Maharashtra government revised its Covid-19 guidelines. The places of worship can only allow devotees up to 50 per cent of the total capacity. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray along with his wife Rashmi Thackeray and two sons Aaditya and Tejas visited the Mumba Devi temple and offered prayer to the Goddess, as the reopening of religious places coincided with the beginning of the nine-day Navratri festival. Meanwhile, Mumbai city reported the biggest spike since mid-July, with 629 people testing positive for the virus. At present, 419 people are taking treatment.Read Less
