Mumbai on Wednesday reported 830 new infections of the coronavirus disease, pushing the total caseload of the city to 7,18,513 cases so far. According to the latest data by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 11 people succumbed to the infection on the day taking the death toll to 15,227. Mumbai Police and the civic body on Wednesday launched separate investigations after a housing society in Kandivali suspected fraud by some persons who had organised a COVID-19 vaccination camp for its members by claiming to represent a private hospital and also expressed apprehensions that the vaccine that was administered could be spurious. BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani has directed Vishwas Shankarwar, deputy municipal commissioner of region 7, to conduct a detailed probe and submit a report within the next 48 hours.Read Less
