Mumbai: MLA’s wife’s suicide attempt foiled by traffic cop – Times of India

MUMBAI: A traffic police constable foiled a woman’s attempt to end her life on Saturday morning. She later turned out to be the spouse of an MLA.
Around 10.15am, a Mankhurd traffic police team was directing traffic movement when a motorist informed them that a woman was perched on the grill of the bridge and was sobbing.
Constable Dhage, a motorcycle rider with the traffic branch, was immediately sent to the location while his colleagues informed the control room, Mankhurd local police station and Navi Mumbai police.
With sensitivity and tact, Dhage convinced the woman to step down from the grill. She was later brought to the Mankhurd police station where she revealed that she was the wife of an MLA. She added that she was upset due to domestic conflict. She was handed over to the Navi Mumbai police who informed her family.
