Mumbai News Updates: City reports 2,403 new corona cases, 68 deaths – Times of India

Mumbai on Saturday reported less than 3,000 new cases. In the past 24 hours, a total of 2,678 persons tested positive in the city. It was on May 4, that the city had recorded 2,554 new coronavirus infections. The overall case count of the city now stands at 6,74,072. The death toll stands at 13,749 with 62 fatalities Currently, the metropolis has over 48,484 active cases. Maharashtra too saw a drop in fresh cases and recorded 53,605 new infections on Saturday. Maharashtra’s total caseload crossed the 50 lakh-mark on Saturday with a total of 50,53,336 cases. There are 6,28,213 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 86.03 per cent. Following complaints of frequent glitches on the CoWIN platform, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has written to the Central government seeking permission to develop a separate app for COVID-19 vaccination in the state.Catch all latest updates of Mumbai city here:
