MUMBAI: A 30-year-old man jumped to death from the fourth floor of his housing society at Jogeshwari West on Sunday.
Nilesh Sapkal was suffering from a mental health condition, police said. No suicide note was recovered.
Sapkal worked in the back office of a private company. He lives with his aunt at Ganesh Nagar in Jogeshwari. Police said he was taking treatment from a psychiatrist for the past four years.
“Sapkal had stopped eating properly and talking to his kin over the past few days. His brother got worried and decided to come over and meet him,” a police officer said.
On Sunday, while his brother had arrived to meet him, Sapkal jumped off the internal stairway from the fourth floor. He landed on the ground floor with a thud. His family rushed him to a hospital but he was pronounced dead before admission.
Oshiwara police have recorded an accidental death.
