Two coaches of moving train gets detached in Mumbai; traffic hit – Times of India

MUMBAI: Two coaches of Bandra Terminus (BDTS) – Ramnagar express decoupled between Andheri-Jogeshwari, affecting the punctuality of train services on Thursday morning.
WR’s chief public relations officer Sumit Thakur said, “Train no 09075 BDTS Ramnagar Express runs with LHB rake. Two coaches, which were in lock condition, at the rear end of the train decoupled near Jogeshwari. Nobody was injured in the incident.”
The incident happened at around 5.30am and track was cleared by 6.40am after re-coupling of coaches.
WR said that due to this incident trains were running 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule.
The incident is deemed serious as it could have led to an accident.
A railway official said, “The train was running at 30 kmph and hence the risk to accident was minimal.”
WR will ascertain the csuse of the incident after an inquiry as this parting of coaches could have happened due to either material fault or shoddy maintenance.
