The Versova police are on the lookout for the two fraudulent allegedly presenting themselves as casting directors and duped an aspiring model and actress of Rs 8.48 lakh on the pretext of providing her lead role in the superstar actor Rajnikat’s upcoming movie.

Actress Sana Suri who had acted in many serials like, Aahat, Kasam, and crime patrol serials received a message on her Instagram from “black cloth events” on July 27, last year.

In the message, it was claimed that they are a talent provider platform and casting for the film audition of an upcoming movie Jailer (Super Star Rajnikant) looking for a male and female police officer, which will be a parallel lead role along with the star cast. It’s a Hindi dubbed film with a good role budget and they asked the actress to WhatsApp her photo in police uniform.

The alleged casting director who introduced himself as Piyush Jain after receiving the photo of the actress spoke to her through WhatsApp calling and informed her of confirmation in the film as the lead role of a police officer in the movie, said an officer from Versova police station.

Jain introduced another person named Sameer to the actress on call and told her that Sameer is also casting for the multi-starrer film, and looking for a model.

“Sameer called the actress and asked her to send photos and videos for the audition. After watching her photos and videos, Sameer called Sana and confirmed her as a lead role actress in his film,” the officer added.

He also shared a photocopy of the flight tickets of the actress and her mothers. He later took Rs 8.48 lakh on the pretext of an MTA clearance certificate, clearance of bank certificate, Entertainment Taxes, GST tax, Instagram verification and putting her name on Wikipedia and Google server for the two movies.

The Jain has sent a poster of the film to the actress in which she was seen with actor Rajnikant as a police officer in uniform. She later uploaded the same poster on her Instagram and other social media account.

The actress received a call on November 29, from a person named Pranav who claimed he is the assistant director of the Jailer movie and informed the actress that she is not in the movie and should immediately remove the fake poster from her social media accounts.

When the actress told him that casting director Jain has cast her in the movie, Pranav told her that he doesn’t know Jain he is not the casting director for the movie.

The actress immediately called Jain for confrontation. “Sana actress realising the fraud, approached the Versova police and registered her complaint.” said another officer.

“We have registered the case under various sections of IPC and looking for the accused,” he added.
