Best batting performances

Skipper Vishnu Solanki (161*) and Ninad Rathva (143) slammed centuries to help Baroda amass a mammoth 420 for 5 on the opening day against Nagaland. The duo added a 227-run stand for the fifth wicket after Baroda were pegged back early in the day, reduced to 70 for 4.

Kedar Jadhav continued his good run of form and stroked his 16th first-class century as Maharashtra piled on 314 for 6 on the opening day against Mumbai. The veteran batter stroked 128, and was well supported by Siddhesh Veer’s 48 and later by wicketkeeper Saurabh Nawale’s unbeaten half-century.

Half-centuries by Rohit Rayudu (90*) and Chandan Sahani (67) helped Hyderabad to 247 for 4 against Delhi on the opening day after Divij Mehra’s double strike in the 37th over had left them in the tricky position.

Paras Dogra slammed his 31st first-class century to help Puducherry to 253 for 4 against kerala after they were reduced to 19 for 3 early in the day. Dogra stitched an unbeaten 151-run stand with Arun Karthik for the fifth wicket.

Half-centuries by Shivam Chaudhary (83), Vivek Singh (97) and Pratham Singh (96) laid the foundation of Railways’ 372 for 5 against Gujarat. Pacer Chintan Gaja dismissed all the three batters and helped his side pull themselves back in the contest.

Bikramkumar Das (61) and Sridam Paul (72) stroked half-centuries to help Tripura to 239 for 6 against Madhya Pradesh. Gourav Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the defending champions, scalping three wickets on the opening day.

Shashank Chandrakar’s maiden first-class century (101) helped Chhattisgarh to 273 for 4 against Goa. He was supported by half-centuries from Anuj Tiwary (86) and Ashutosh Singh (55), with whom he added partnerships of 163 and 64 for the first two wickets respectively.

Best bowling performances

K Gowtham bagged four wickets to lead Jharkhand’s downfall, bundling them out for 164. The offspinner returned figures of 4 for 61 and was well-supported by his spin partner Shreyas Gopal, who bagged three wickets.

Avneesh Sudha’s maiden first-class fifer reduced Haryana to 158 for 6 against Uttarakhand. Sudha returned figures of 5 for 43 from his 13-over spell on the first day.

Madhav Rayudu returned four wickets to pave the way for Assam’s collapse, as they bundled out for 113. Half-centuries by Abhishek Reddy (75) and Hanuma Vihari (80*) then helped Andhra to a strong position at stumps – 160 for 3.
