Murder solved within 8 hours in Mumbai, 1 held – Times of India

MUMBAI: Within eight hours of finding a murdered man on a pavement at Malad East, the Kurar police traced the accused and arrested him on Tuesday.
The victim, Sandeep Rane, had a dispute in the past with the accused, Manish Shukla, over trash collection. Police said Shukla was enraged and wanted to teach Rane a lesson.
A patrolling team from Kurar police station found a dead body with a stab injury in the chest on the footpath at Appapada, Malad East. The police started making inquiries and found the victim’s mother who identified him.
“We had no leads. Through a technical analysis, we tracked down Shukla, 30, within eight hours and arrested him. He had used an iron ruler with screws welded in it for attacking Rane,” said a police officer.
The murder weapon was recovered.
