By India Today Web Desk: A 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing acid on his live-in partner in the Girgaon area of Mumbai on Friday. The victim, a resident of Fanas Wadi area in Girgaon, suffered 40 per cent burns in the incident and is undergoing treatment.
The accused, Mahesh Pujari and the woman, were in a live-in-relationship for the past 25 years. However, things had not been going well between the duo in recent times. Due to frequent tiffs, the woman reportedly pressurised the accused to leave her house.

Mahesh, who was out of the house for two days, came back and threw acid on the victim on Friday at 5.30 am, while she was out to fetch water. Mahesh had brought the acid in a plastic bottle.
The woman, severely injured, has been admitted to a hospital for treatment while the accused has been arrested by Mumbai’s LT Marg Police.
