Teen attacks two men for talking to his ex-girlfriend – Hindustan Times

Mumbai: A 17-year-old boy has been booked for allegedly attacking two men with a chopper in Powai on Sunday.

According to the Powai police, the incident happened when the teenager noticed the victims, Yogesh Chaudhari and Altaf Fakeer, talking to his former girlfriend near Avalon Cooperative Housing Society in Powai at around 7.55pm.

“The boy demanded to know why they were talking to her and this sparked off an argument between him and the duo. The accused tried to attack Chaudhari with a chopper. Fakeer rushed to help Chaudhari and the accused turned on him,” a police officer said.

The accused allegedly stabbed Fakeer in the back and also slashed at Chaudhari, inflicting injuries on his arm, before fleeing the scene. Eyewitnesses then called the police control room after which a team was rushed to the spot. Chaudhari and Fakeer, both 20-year-old, were taken to Rajawadi hospital.

“With help of the victims, the accused was identified. He was subsequently picked up from his Ghatkopar residence and brought to the police station,” Budhan Sawant, senior police inspector, said.

He was charged with attempt to murder and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The boy was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which sent him to the children’s home in Dongri.

An officer said that the girl had severed ties with the accused recently. He had been pursuing her to get back into relationship, but she consistently kept refusing. When he saw her talking to someone else, he became furious, the officer added.

“We are trying to find out where the accused got the chopper from and whether he has any past criminal record,” Sawant added.
