Reduce, Reuse and Recycle at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport – Times of India

Flying to and from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA)? You can now recycle your single-use plastic bottles at the airport’s Reverse Vending Machines. Keeping zero waste target in mind, the airport has installed these Reverse Vending Machines to encourage travellers to recycle their plastic bottles.

As of now, you can find these Reverse Vending Machines at Terminal 2. Terminal 1 will soon follow suit.

Did you also know that since 2019, CSMIA has been a single-use plastic free airport? The airport’s drive to achieve ‘Net Zero’ carbon emission is inspiring.

This new green initiative is a happy addition to the already existing initiatives at the airport, such as carbon neutrality, use of solar energy, recycling waste, making organic compost, and complete ban on single-use plastic in sectors like retail, food and beverages.
