MVA Halla Bol Rally Live Today, December 17, 2022: The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) ‘Halla Bol’ rally kicked off at 11 am Saturday. Addressing the gathering at the protest rally, Uddhav Thackeray said that they will not compromise on Maharashtra’s pride. NCP leaders Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar added that the governor of the state should be removed. “Seen so many governors in the past who have brought pride and fame to Maharashtra. But this governor makes insulting statements. We want to centre to remove him immediately”, said Sharad Pawar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), meanwhile, will hold a string of protests named ‘Maafi Maango Andolan’ at Nariman Pt, Ghatkopar, Kandivali, Andheri, Dadar today. The party has raised objections to Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sushma Andhare’s statements mocking Hindu Gods and saints. The protest is also to highlight Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s misinformation about Dr B R Ambedkar’s birth place. The first rally will take place at Kandivali East at 10.30 am. The rallies at Dadar and Nariman Point will begin at 11.30 am. The one at Ghatkopar will start at 3.30 pm.
Owing to the rallies, security has been heightened across the city, and traffic curbs are in place.
