Mumbai’s 5 most iconic neighbourhoods – Times of India

Colaba is among those regions in Mumbai that needs no introduction as it is one of the most integral parts of the city. Set on the southernmost parts of the city, Colaba was one of the seven islands of Bombay which was ruled by the Portuguese. Later, these islands were gifted to Charles II of England when he got married to Catherine of Braganza in 1661. Since then, Colaba has gone through several changes and has played an important role in the development of Mumbai. Today, the place is home to several iconic attractions and cafes in the city, including the Gateway of India, Cafe Leopold and Café Mondegar, among others.
