The Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign for Mumbai Indians (MI) may be over as far as their chances of qualification for the playoffs is concerned, however, as they say, it’s not really over till it’s over and that’s the case for five-time champions ahead of their final game. The game against Delhi Capitals may be of rather negligible significance for MI, however, they have the fate of another team in their hands.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) destiny rests in the hands of MI as even though the Faf du Plessis-led side has won their last league stage game against the Gujarat Titans, the situation is out of their hands now. RCB’s net run rate is quite low and only a Delhi Capitals’ loss can help them go through to the playoffs.

While Virat Kohli mentioned that not just two (himself and Du Plessis), MI will have 25 more supporters on Saturday evening (including RCB players and support staff) and he even joked that they might find them even cheering from the stadium.

The jokes, however, haven’t been just limited to the RCB players, the fans, and former cricketers have joined the banter as well saying that this will probably be the only time that RCB fans will be rooting for the five-time champions.
