Mumbai: Ranas cancel Hanuman Chalisa recital plan outside Matoshree but Shiv Sena say won’t leave Khar bu – Times of India

MUMBAI: Despite the fact that independent MLA Ravi Rana and his MP wife Navneet Rana have cancelled their plan to recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mumbai on Sunday, the Shiv Sena has said that Sainiks will not leave outside Rana’s Khar home until they apologise to the Sena.
“Citing the PM’s visit to Mumbai, the Rana couple have taken an example from this challenge. They had challenged that they would come and recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree. Now they have found an exit from this. They must apologise in public and till then Shiv Sainiks will not let them step out of their home,” said Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra transport minister Anil Parab.
“Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country. We will not create any problems for his visit to Mumbai and it will happen as per the schedule and route planned. The Rana couple have just cited the PM’s visit as an excuse to not complete their own challenge. They have vitiated the atmosphere of Mumbai for the last three days and tried to stir riots. We have filed a police complaint against them for trying to create riots among two groups. The police must take cognisance of our complaint and file an FIR against them,” Parab said.
“They wanted to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree now they must come down and recite the Maruti Stotra with Shiv Sainiks to let the Sainiks go up to their house and recite the Maruti Stotra,” Parab added.
With the Rana’s stating that they had canceled their plan to recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, Sena workers including Yuva Secretary Varun Sardesai and functionary Rahul Kanal led celebrations in Khar where hundreds of Sainiks had gathered since Saturday morning to protest against Rana.
On Saturday morning, despite protests and sloganeering by Shiv Sena, Rana said that he would go to Matoshree and recite the Hanuman Chalisa.
Ravi Rana said that he had demanded that the chief minister read Hanuman Chalisa on Hanuman Jayanti “to rid Maharashtra of crises and attain peace for the state. “The chief minister did not visit Mantralaya for two years during the Covid pandemic and did not meet MPs and MLAs from the state,” Rana had alleged.
Rana had said that he would come and recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, the Thackeray family residence in Bandra (East) on April 23.
