After an unprecedented delay, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has finally thrown open the Rabale vehicular-cum-pedestrian subway across the busy Thane-Belapur road near Rabale MIDC police station. T

The subway connects MIDC corridor of Trans Thane Creek (TTC) with the visibly crowded T-Junction, which is the starting and terminating point of Mulund-Airoli Link Road.

The project was delayed for a couple of years on account of two major obstacles — public toilets and a shop. The clearance of these structures has paved the way for operationalising this key connecting stretch, which has come as a relief to local residents, especially students who were forced to jaywalk on the Thane Belapur road. Many hope that road mishaps, too, will be minimised.
