Rise in Covid cases: Bombay HC to go hybrid from January 4 till January 8 – Times of India

MUMBAI: As Covid and Omicron cases rise, the Bombay high court which resumes on January 3 after winter vacation will go hybrid in its sitting.
From Tuesday, January 4, 2022, the court hearing will be held on a hybrid basis in the principal Bench till January 8, 2022.
Entry of litigants will be restricted.
At a meeting held on December 31 presided over by Justice Amjay Sayed of the Bombay high court, it was agreed that an appeal be made to the members of the bar that unless it is absolutely necessary juniors, interns are requested not to attend courts physically.
The situation will be reviewed after one week.
The Bombay Bar Association in a notice on Friday informed all its members that the administrative committee of the high court had convened a meeting with all high court bar associations on December 31, 2021.
Additional municipal commissioner Suresh Kakani and Dr Ramaswamy, heath commissioner from the state government, were present and they mentioned that there is an alarming rise in the number of infections, although they said that the state and MCGM are well positioned to tackle the present rise of cases.
They said it is necessary to follow all Covid-related safety protocols including wearing two layers of masks.
Mentioning will not be permitted physically on Monday — January 3, 2022 — unless there is extreme urgency.
From Tuesday, January 4, 2022, circulations will be permitted by sending the precipe by email.
In cases involving extreme urgency, mentioning will be permitted physically or on the hybrid platform.
