Mumbai: 7-day compulsory home quarantine for passengers arriving from Dubai – Times of India

MUMBAI: The BMC on Friday made a 7-day home quarantine compulsory for all passengers taking a flight from Dubai and arriving in Mumbai.
In a fresh circular, the BMC said that all international passengers arriving from Dubai and who are residents of Mumbai will have to undergo compulsory home quarantine for 7 days. However they won’t have to do an Rt-PCR test at the airport if they are fully vaccinated on arrival.
The BMC said that 12 countries were on the list of at risk nations but Dubai was a travel hub where passengers change flights and so there is mixing of passengers at the Dubai international airport. The new rules were issued in the wake of the threat of the Omicron variant from passengers arriving from Dubai.
Those passengers who are not residents of Mumbai will be allowed to leave the airport but those living in Maharashtra will be transferred by the collector to their home cities and they will not be allowed to take public transport.
Those who are from other states will be allowed to take connecting flights but the airport authorities will have to inform their home destination airports about their arrival from Dubai.
The BMC said that Mumbai residents arriving from Dubai will be contacted by the Ward War Rooms for 7 days when they are in home quarantine and will be tested on the seventh day. If they test negative, they will self monitor for the next 7 days. If they test positive, they will be moved to institutional quarantine.
