Maharashtra on Saturday reported eight cases of Omicron variant of Covid-19. The total count of Omicron cases in the state have risen to 48. Amidst rising concerns owing to the Omicron covid variant, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday asked citizens to completely avoid any kind of gathering or organising parties for Christmas or New year’s Eve. Officials said that squads would be deployed at every ward level to take action against violators. Reiterating the rules, BMC said that in confined / closed spaces, people up to 50 per cent capacity of the place to be allowed.
