Mumbai Live News: A major fire broke out on the first floor of a four-storey mall in suburban Vile Parle on Friday, injuring one person. Sixteen fire engines, 11 water tankers, one turn table ladder, a breathing apparatus van and an ambulance were pressed into service. The fire was finally doused at 2:58 pm.
The Prime mall, a shopping centre in Irla, Vile Parle West houses electronic stores, several computer and mobile accessories and repair shops and clothing shops.
This is the third incident of major fire reported in the city so far this week.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court denied protection from arrest to former Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh in extortion case. The apex court asked Singh to disclose his whereabouts and scheduled the next hearing over the matter on November 22.
