Mumbai news LIVE: Fire breaks out at high-rise in Kandivali, 2 dead – The Indian Express

Mumbai Live News: Two persons were killed after a fire broke out at a flat of a 15-storey residential building in the Kandivali area of the city on Saturday. Another resident was injured and rushed to the civic-run Shatabdi Hospital, officials said. The deceased had suffered 100 per cent burns in the incident due to which their identity could not be established, officials added.

Officials of the Mumbai Fire Brigade said that the fire was reported at a flat on the 14th floor of the Hansa Heritage building on Mathuradas Road in Kandivali (West) at around 8.30 pm.

Earlier in the day, 11 patients, who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19, died after a fire broke out in the intensive care unit of a district hospital in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar.

Meanwhile, former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, who was arrested on November 2 by the ED in relation with a money laundering case, has been sent to judicial custody for two weeks by the special PMLA court. The court refused to grant a nine-day extension, requested by the ED, in Deshmukh’s custody.

In other news, the Narcotics Control Bureau has transferred six cases, including the alleged Cordelia drug bust case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested, from its Mumbai Zonal Unit director Sameer Wankhede to a Special Investigation Team comprising officers from the operations branch at the NCB headquarters in New Delhi.
