Mumbai News Today Live Updates: Maharashtra on Monday reported 2,583 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest since February 9, taking the total tally to 65,24,498. The state also recorded 28 new fatalities, taking the death toll to 1,38,546. Meanwhile, 3,836 patients recovered. Mumbai city recorded 417 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths.

A metropolitan magistrate’s court Monday granted bail to businessman Raj Kundra, who was arrested in July in the case pertaining to the alleged creation and publishing of pornographic films on mobile applications. He was granted bail on a surety of Rs 50,000 with certain conditions.

Meanwhile, actor Kangana Ranaut appeared before Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Monday in the defamation proceedings filed against her by poet lyricist Javed Akhtar, days after the court said it would issue an arrest warrant against her if she doesn’t appear before it. Ranaut also filed a counter-complaint against Akhtar alleging extortion and criminal intimidation.

The MET department has warned of heavy to moderate rainfall in parts of Maharashtra from Monday to Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is predicted in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad from Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain at isolated places are likely in Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Aurangabad, Jalna, Hingoli, Nanded, Amaravati, Gondia from Monday.
