Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday inaugurated oxygen generating plants at five hospitals run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai. The total capacity of these five plants, set up through donations from corporates, is around 6.93 metric tons. The plants have been set up at Kasturba Hospital at Chinchpokli, Cooper Hospital at Vile Parle, Bhabha Hospital at Bandra, Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar and the Covid Care Centre at the Nehru Science Centre. The BMC on Friday cancelled the nursing home license of Charkop’s Shivam Hospital and sealed the entire premises. The BMC has cancelled the hospital’s registration license under the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949. Ahead of the upcoming Eid-Al Adha, also called Bakri Eid, the state government has issued guidelines asking people to book sacrificial animals online or over the telephone as all animal markets will be shut, adding that ‘qurbani’ should preferably be symbolic.Read Less
