Mumbai: Auto driver allegedly rapes and murders 45-year-old tribal woman; arrested – Times Now

Navi Mumbai: In yet another shocking incident reported from Maharashtra, an autorickshaw driver has been arrested by the Khalapur police on charges of allegedly raping and murdering a 45-year-old tribal woman. The woman had boarded the auto to go to Warad village.

It was further alleged that the auto driver sexually assaulted her after taking her under the Warad bridge. Also, after assaulting her, the duo landed up in an argument over the auto fare and thus the driver strangled her to death. The autorickshaw driver was held on Thursday evening for committing the heinous crime.

As per the report in the Times of India, Khalapur sub-divisional police officer said that the victim and the accused were known to each other. The woman as well as her husband worked at a brick kiln in Warad village in Khalapur taluka. 

How the incident took place

It was around 01:30 pm on Thursday when the woman had booked the auto and fixed the fare at Rs 300. The woman had to travel from Vavoshi to Warad as her husband was in Warad.

The woman wanted to go to her niece’s wedding. The police also informed that the locals had witnessed that the auto driver and the woman had consumed toddy at a shop, as they were known to each other. 

Another shocking incident

Another rape case shamed Uttar Pradesh where a class 10 girl was abducted and gangraped by four men while she was on her way to her tuition class.

The heinous crime was reported from Kapsad village of Sardhana in Meerut district. As per the reports, the girl was later poisoned to death and she breathed her last during treatment at Meerut hospital.

Also, it is said that the accused took the victim to a house and later gangraped her. They later forced her to consume poison and the victim somehow managed to reach her home with torn clothes. She narrated the entire episode to her family members. However, she died during treatment at the hospital.
