Mumbai witnessed yet another drastic drop in the number of coronavirus cases as 4,758 persons tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours. With a doubling rate of 50 days, the city now hosts 49,167 active cases. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s wife Rashmi Thackeray, who had contracted COVID-19 a week ago, has now been admitted to a city hospital after complaining of weakness.On the other hand, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar underwent an endoscopy on Tuesday instead of Wednesday and is currently doing well post the removal of a stone from his gall bladder.In other news, actor Ajaz Khan of Bigg Boss fame was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday in connection with a drug case. His name had cropped up during the interrogation of drug peddler Shadab Batata.
