As COVID-19 cases continue to shoot in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to discharge asymptomatic patients at the earliest to vacate beds for the patients with more serious symptoms. The civic body will also place the order for procuring 1.5 lakh injections of Remdesivir and other medical equipment to avoid any potential shortage of medicines. Mumbai on Monday reported a considerable drop with 5,888 new cases of coronavirus and with that, the city’s tally jumped to 4,04,562. Till date, the metropolis has recorded 11,661 deaths, 3,44,496 recoveries, and at present, has 47,453 active cases.In other news, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has been admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai and is set to undergo a gall bladder surgery on Wednesday. Recently, there were reports of a “secret meeting” between Pawar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra’s ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi has rubbished the purported development and reiterated that the state government is safe and sound.
