In a relief to citizens, no additional civic tax or licence fee was proposed in the budget by the BMC. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) unveiled a Rs 39,038.83 crore budget for the year 2021-22. In the budget, BMC has focused on various ongoing development projects, besides health services, education, and other facilities. The civic body has also decided to redesignate all its schools as ‘Mumbai Public Schools’ in an attempt to change their perception. Meanwhile, the city has also seen a spike in new COVID-19 cases.
