Mumbai city and adjoining areas including Thane saw light rains even as air quality remained severe to unhealthy in some parts.
The met department has forecast showers along with thunderstorms for the next few days starting Friday covering coastal parts of Maharashtra.
“Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/drizzle,” said IMD
According to IMD Mumbai, the minimum temperature would drop to 22 degrees celsius.
Some areas of the state may receive thunderstorms and showers which may affect rabi crops as well as mango production in the coastal region.
Meanwhile, with a drop in temperature, smog engulfed the city and adjoining Thane, leading to poor visibility.

The air quality index of Mumbai remains very poor for the second day. Today, the air quality index for Mumbai was 265. UN standards set the benchmark at 60.
According to AQI India, the air quality remains severe in Borivali West, Kurla, Malad, Powai, Vasai and unhealthy around Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Sion.
Air quality remains good in Bandra at 45.
