MUMBAI: The partly decomposed bodies of two women, believed to be mother and daughter, were found in a rented flat in Palghar on Friday. The identities of the victims are being established.
Tarapur police said that they had received calls from residents of a building in the Pasthal area of Palghar. The residents complained of foul smell. As the doorbell went unanswered, cops broke into the flat and found the bodies.
Neighbours said that they were mother and daughter. The closed-circuit television (CCTV) of the building showed that the daughter, aged around 21, was last seen entering the building on December 6. The mother, in her 40s, had not stepped out of the home, as per CCTV footages.
The bodies have been sent for autopsy. No suicide note was found.
Neighbours told the police that nothing much is known about the victims who did not interact with residents of the building.
