Mumbai: Petrol costs over Rs 90 per litre, Diesel Rs 80; Parbhani in Maharashtra has the highest rate – Mumbai Mirror

With oil marketing companies (OMCs) raising their retail price, the cost of petrol has touched a new high in Mumbai city and it will burn a hole in your pocket and budget.

Petrol now costs Rs 90.05 and diesel Rs 80.23 per litre. Whereas in Navi Mumbai petrol costs Rs 90.17 per litre and diesel is priced at Rs 80.35 per litre.

The cost of petrol has crossed the Rs 90 mark in at least 25 districts including Nagpur, Nashik, Parbhani, Nanded, Buldhana, Amravati and Ratnagiri.

In Parbhani district of the state, it is the costliest in India at Rs 92.47 per litre.

Whereas diesel too has crossed the Rs 80 mark in most of the cities in the state.

Petrol prices had been static since September 22, and diesel rates hadn’t changed since October 2.

On Monday, the price of petrol increased by 30-33 paise whereas diesel has become dearer by 25-31 paise.

There are over 11 lakh cars and 23 lakh two-wheelers in Mumbai.

“The repeated and unjust increase in the fuel prices has inflicted insurmountable pain & suffering on the nation,” said Congress party.

It also urged the Modi government to immediately roll back the petrol-diesel prices and excise duty hike post the 5th of March and pass on this benefit to the citizens.
