COVID-19 latest updates: India’s tally cross 60-lakh mark, 50 lakh recoveries till date – Mumbai Mirror

With a single-day spike of 82,170 new COVID-19 cases, India’s COVID-19 case count crossed 60-lakh mark. Maharashtra recorded 18,056 new coronavirus positive cases on Sunday, which pushed the state’s overall tally to 13.39 lakh. With the death of 380 patients in the day, the toll reached 35,571. There are 2.73 lakh active cases in the state at present. Mumbai city recorded 2,261 cases and 44 deaths during the day, which took the case tally to 1,98,846 and fatality count to 8,794. Meanwhile, hospitals continue to face a shortage of vital Remdesivir drugs. One of the leading COVID facilities has just 15 vials of the life-saving medicine for the 1000 patients in the hospital.
