Earlier on Sunday, senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra minister Sudhir Mungantiwar tweeted that he had been detected with the novel coronavirus, reported PTI. He said he had isolated himself and requested those who had come in contact with him over the past few days to get themselves tested.

Mungantiwar was finance and forest minister in the previous Devendra Fadnavis government.

A 106-year-old woman from Thane district defeated Covid-19 and was discharged from hospital on Sunday with doctors and nurses giving her a warm farewell, PTI reported.

No hospital was ready to admit her due to her age when the Dombivali resident had contracted the disease, her daughter-in-law said.

Then she was admitted to the Covid-19 treatment facility set up by the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal

Maharashtra cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray took to Twitter to laud the KDMC staff and Shiv Sena’s Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde for providing proper treatment to the elderly woman.
