Heavy rain lashes Mumbai, Thane; to continue for next few days – Mumbai Mirror

Heavy rain, accompanied by wind, lashed the city and its adjoining areas including Thane on Thursday.

The weatherman has forecast showers to continue all through the weekend.

The Met department predicted that parts of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Mumbai will get heavy rains till the weekend.

KS Hosalikar, deputy director general at IMD Mumbai, said that extended range forecast by IMD for next 4 weeks for rainfall anomaly indicates positive departures over Maharashtra from next week onwards.

Also,a house collapse in Kurla (W) was reported on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place at Netabh Line, CST Road in Kurla after a corner part of Neta building collapsed.Rescue operation is currently underway. The fire brigade along with an ambulance is on site.The collapse was reported at 12:02 pm.

Also, there were no reports of traffic congestion across the city. Mumbai is expected to witness cloudy skies with moderate rain while isolated places in the city will experience heavy rainfall, according to India Meteorological Department’s latest bulletin.
