Mumbai locks down 46 localities amid coronavirus spread – Economic Times

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is racing against time to contain the spread of corona virus with the number of those infected crossing 65 – the highest in the country. The civic administration has created several quarantine zones throughout the city as fresh cases crop up every day.

Officials said at least 46 buildings/localities have been quarantined by the civic administration in Mumbai. According to information available, Worli-Koliwada in central Mumbai, Bimbisar in Goregaon in the Western suburbs and Kannamwarnagar 2 in Vikhroli are some places which have been quarantined after positive cases were reported.

On Tuesday morning, two places in Dahisar were quarantined after positive cases were found, sources said.

What is a cause of immense worry for the civic authorities is the fact that they are unable to trace the source of infection for a few people who have been tested positive. Till Monday night, the civic administration has not been able to find the source of infection for close to 10 people in the city.
