Mumbai Bagh protesters demand suspension of cop – Times of India

MUMBAI: Women and men started gathering at the Mumbai Bagh, a site where women are on sit-in protest against the NRC-CAA, after the news of alleged police high handedness spread in the area with videos. Police personnel in large number were being deployed in and around the protest site.
Some locals said that the Nagpada police arrived at the protest site in the midnight and tried to snatch the cloth which women had used to make roof to avoid scorching sun during day.
Women got agitated and police team reportedly left. They again appeared at dawn when most of the women had gone to fill water tanks at homes. This led to unrest among the protesters. A woman was reportedly injured too.

A crowed gathered at the Nagpada junction demanded suspension of Shalini Sharma, senior inspector of police. When contacted DCP Abhinash Kumar said, “We will talk in the evening.”
