Mumbai Maharashtra news live updates, September 29: NCP president Sharad Pawar’s one state tour is enough for opposition to return to power in Maharashtra, said daughter, and NCP ( MP) Supriya Sule. “In his long 55 years political career Sharad Pawar saw power for 27 years and equal 27 years in the role of opposition. But I always believe and tell Maharashtra has given him abundance love and respect,” she said. “In 2019, nobody believed Maha Vikas Aghadi would come to power. Every day we woke up with news that some NCP leader has defected to BJP. Many predicted the end of opposition,” Sule said.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra DGP Rajnish Seth on Wednesday directed police personnel across the state to seal the offices of Popular Front of India (PFI) and freeze their bank accounts. The PFI was banned by the Union government earlier in the day following days of raids and arrests of people linked to the outfit.

In other news,  Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Wednesday hailed the Centre’s decision to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for it. Shinde said that the radical Muslim outfit had planned to create unrest and a communal divide.
