The month of November this year has recorded 30.1 mm of rains which is the second highest in a decade. The highest rains for the month were recorded in November 2019 of 109.3 mm while all the other years have seen less than 5 mm of rains. Of the 30.1 mm of rains recorded by the IMD Santacruz observatory, the maximum rainfall of 24.7 mm was recorded between November 21-22. This falls in the moderate rainfall category as per IMD classification. (Moderate rain: 15.6mm up to 64.4mm) Officials said that the unseasonal rains are expected to continue and a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar being issued for Wednesday.
