Flyer held at Mumbai airport with Rs 33.6 crore cocaine hidden in soaps – Times of India

MUMBAI: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers on Wednesday seized 3.4kg cocaine worth Rs 33.6 crore in the illicit market from a passenger who arrived from Addis Ababa.
The contraband was concealed in 16 soap boxes. On examination, the officers found something beneath the wax-like layer of the soaps. They removed the wax layer and found a bar wrapped in a transparent plastic. The officers scratched the soap cake and found a powdery substance which tested positive for cocaine. The passenger was arrested.
On December 3, the DRI had arrested two foreigners who had arrived from Addis Ababa with nearly 2kg of cocaine worth Rs 18 crore. The contraband was hidden in empty handbags inside their luggage.
