Mumbai News Highlights, 9 December 2022: Former Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should clarify his stand on the simmering Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. Speaking at the inauguration of the 42nd Marathwada Sahitya Sammelan at Sant Ramdas College in Jalna district, Thackeray said, “PM Narendra Modi is coming to inaugurate Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway (on Sunday) and we welcome him. During his visit, he should clarify his stand on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. The PM will have to address a host of issues plaguing the state when he comes for the inauguration of the expressway.”

In other news, three unidentified people threw ink at BJP leader and Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Saturday evening when he was stepping out of a party leader’s home in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Police have detained the ink throwers, who were said to have been agitated by a statement that Patil made in Paithan near Aurangabad.

The Bombay High Court will pronounce its order on December 12 on the bail plea of NCP leader and former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh in a corruption case filed by the CBI. Justice Makarand S Karnik concluded the hearing on Thursday and reserved its order on Deshmukh’s appeal challenging a special CBI court decision that denied him bail.
