Crowds at Mumbai airport are so bad, international travellers advised to reach 3.5hrs earlier – Condé Nast Traveller India

Sure, we all look forward to the bling and gaiety of the festive season. But at India’s major airports, the season has brought its own woes. At Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, passengers are met with long queues just to enter the departure terminal. Multiple travellers have been taking to the internet, warning fellow travellers of the jam-packed airport, unmanned counters and prolonged check-in procedures.

On 8 December, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport released a travel advisory on Twitter to ensure smooth movement at the airport.

Passengers travelling internationally are advised to reach the airport three and a half hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight. Domestic travellers are advised to reach their designated terminal at least two and half hours before. The aim is to allocate ample time for completing travel and check-in-related formalities before departure.
