Mumbai News Live Updates: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis paid tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 66th death anniversary on Tuesday. The death anniversary of the chief architect of the Constitution is observed as ‘Mahaparinirvan Din’. Governor Koshyari, CM Shinde and his deputy Fadnavis paid floral tributes to Ambedkar at his memorial ‘Chaityabhoomi’ at the Shivaji Park in Dadar area of Mumbai.

The Mumbai traffic police have issued an advisory informing its citizens that vehicular movement will be diverted around Chaitya Bhoomi in Shivaji Park – the resting place of Dr BR Ambedkar – from Monday to Wednesday in view of the 66th death anniversary of the social reformer and chief architect of India’s Constitution.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Vikar Aghadi (MVA) has announced a massive protest march in Mumbai on December 17 against the Eknath Shinde government for insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji and on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, while also demanding to remove Maharashtra’s Governor Bhagat Singh Kishiyari over his controversial remark over Shivaji. “This is not a march for politics but to fight for the pride of Maharashtra. We in Maha Vikas Aghadi appeal to all parties, organisations and individuals to join us against this timid Maharashtra government, which cannot even stand in front of the insulting statements made against Maharashtra by Karnataka’s chief minister,” said former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray.
